Sâkihitowin Awâsis


Sâkihitowin Awâsis is a Michif Otipemisiw and Anishinaabe Two-Spirit land defender and spoken word artist. Her community organizing and research focus on Indigenous health, energy justice, and the Enbridge Line 9 Pipeline reversal. As a writer she has contributed to A Line In The Tar SandsForever Loved: Exposing the Hidden Crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada, The Enpipe Line, and ᑭᒥᐊᐧᐣ kimiwan ‘zine.  She is continually inspired by acts of decolonization, resurgence, and community healing.
