THA KOALA was born in London UK to Kenyan parents. At an early age, THA KOALA enjoyed the rhythms of 90s boom bap hip hop but was first fully introduced to the genre through Lupe Fiasco’s debut Food and Liquor. The lyricism, story telling, and delivery inspired him to study the legends of hip hop and become a student of the culture. THA KOALA began his endeavors with hip hop through mirroring the freestyle ability of his influences. As an artist his main motivation is to tell stories in messages that deliver and impact on the lives of those who listen. Hip Hop has been his life, and it is his belief that it transcends genre and is a cultural phenomena.
