Angie Quick & Susan Day: In Conversation with Jennie Kraehling
Saturday, 3 May 2025, 2:00 PM
Michael Gibson Gallery
157 Carling St, London, ON

Our event will be hybrid: you can join us onsite at Michael Gibson Gallery or online via Zoom webinar! Your registration here is good for either an online or onsite ticket.

Though they work in different artistic disciplines (painting and clay, respectively), both artists use figuration and their personal history as part of their work. Through their conversation we will learn how each artist approaches their own artistic practice and how this is Quick’s most personal body of paintings yet.

An exploration of intimacy in both public and private places, this is Angie Quick’s most personal body of work yet. Full of happiness and heartbreak, the paintings are filled to the brim with pillows, plants and pearls, mirrors, maids and disco balls, and delicious tea and pink frosted cakes. It is painting at its most joyful – bold, gestural and fearless: “It’s a bedroom show with all the gushy feelings the bed brings.”

This event will take place as part of the 2nd annual ADAC Canadian Art Hop, a free nation-wide celebration of new art exhibitions, events and tours over the first weekend in May. The Canadian Art Hop is a weekend devoted to the discovery, celebration, and love of Canadian art and art galleries. From coast to coast, over 90 galleries welcome you to join on this journey of exploration of our Canadian art galleries and culture.
