Kevin Sylvester
Kevin Sylvester is an award winning illustrator, author and broadcaster.
And he seems to have a thing about monsters. His latest picture book is Gargantua (Jr.): Defender of Earth (Groundwood). This follows Super-Duper Monster Viewer (also with Groundwood).
His super-hero fiction book Mucus Mayhem was nominated for the 2019 Silver Birch Award for Fiction. It’s part of the Almost Epic Squad Series (Scholastic Canada) – along with books by Ted Staunton, Richard Scrimger and Lesley Livingston. All four books are illustrated by Britt Wilson.
But he also writes detective fiction (The Neil Flambé Capers), sci-fi (The MINRs trilogy), and tons of non-fiction, often about sports (Basketballogy also a 2019 Silver Birch nominee) but also about financial literacy.
