Elaine Cougler: Writing Creative Non-Fiction Workshop

When: Saturday, 2nd November, 3:00pm - 4:00pm

Where: Museum London, Centre at the Forks North

This event is free!

This workshop will focus on the differences between creative non-fiction, narrative non-fiction and fiction. Award-winning author Elaine Cougler will show how she has used these terms in her work, most notably her latest book, The Man Behind the Marathons: How Ron Calhoun Helped Terry Fox and Other Heroes Make Millions for Charity, and she will discuss other works of creative non-fiction. This will be an interactive session where participants will be asked to join in the discussion with questions and comments about other instances of creative non-fiction they have found. The attendees will leave the session with a clear understanding of how this genre can add depth to characters while writing about real people and events.
